Police have added 33 charges to an investigation into prison staff allegedly taking bribes to smuggle drugs, phones and tobacco to inmates.
An investigation into alleged corruption at North Island prisons has resulted in 33 new charges being laid, bringing the total to 141. Police allege prison staff accepted cash payments in exchange for smuggling drugs, mobile phones and tobacco to inmates. Twenty people have been charged as part of the investigation.
