Man arrested after fleeing police and stealing vehicle near Taupō
A man was arrested on State Highway 5 in Hawke's Bay after fleeing police and stealing a second vehicle during an hour-long pursuit near Taupō.
Police pursued a man who initially fled in a car that was disabled with road spikes near Taupō. He then stole a second vehicle and continued to evade officers. The incident lasted about an hour and ended approximately 9km south of Pohokura on State Highway 5, where the man was arrested.
